Lake Blue Ridge Marina is a full-service marina offering dining and beverage options, a general store, boating services, and water sports rentals. Grab a bite to eat at the Boat Dock Bar and Grill, check out the boat showroom, or rent a standup paddleboard, kayak, pontoon, canoe, or paddleboat. The marina restaurant operates seasonally, so be sure to check their website before visiting. In addition, you can access the boat launch or gas up your vessel if you’re running low on fuel.
Where To Eat On The Lake
Boat Dock Bar and Grill. This local joint at the Blue Ridge Marina has slips to park your boat and dine, as well as parking to drive in.
Come for sunset cocktails, live music on the weekends, great lake views, and the best smoked chicken wings ever made fresh in the giant smoker out back.
Note that on busy weekends, there is usually a decent wait so put yourself on lake time, grab a beverage, and enjoy the views.

Rented two pontoon boats for a family celebration…twelve people total…ages 9 to 67. Had a wonderful day on the lake. Boats were clean and operated without a problem. Staff was professional and very courteous. Will be doing it again.

The blue ridge marina was a wonderful. The staff were polite and courteous. The facilities were clean . And the pontoon was very well kept . The whole family had a great time . Lake blue ridge was so pretty and definitely worth renting a boat if you are in the blue ridge area.
The craft was clean, roomy and accommodated 8 adults and one two-year-old with room to spare. All the equipment was in good working condition and it was easy to operate. The staff at the marina were friendly and helpful. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Cruising On Lake Blue Ridge
Ive spent the last 28 years cruising the shoreline of Lake Blue Ridge. Ive seen and heard it all, I suppose. My friends call me Captain Katz, pretty much for my expertise on steering them into the areas safe for spawning, and away from the fish hunting sapiens. But to the naked human eye, Im just a big old channel catfish, not good for much of anything except a great selfie if they are lucky enough to snag me. Im happy to say that hasnt been my destiny to date.
Today, Ive been asked to share with you warm-blooded, gill-less persons many of the amazing amenities of the 3,300 acres of pristine clean clear waters of Lake Blue Ridge. Ive observed your enthusiasm for our lagoons for nearly three decades. Yes, if you can see your toes in the water, I can see up at you, as well as hear you. And you are quite the vocal species, arent you? Especially when you manage to hook one of my fellow aquatic compadres.
Fishing
My grandfather spoke often about the rudiments of this human sport. It is essential for those of us who have no intention of being caught just how to avoid the situation. That means that I happen to know where I shall stay clear, but where you will enjoy hooking a few of those less savvy fish for your dinner.
If dropping a line from shore the best places to fish are amid the rocky flats around the marina, Star Creek Cove, and the docks around the main body of the lake. Theres also some serious consideration given to the base of the Blue Ridge Dam.

Morganton Point Campground And Recreation Area

Comprising 3,200 acres along the Lake Blue Ridge shoreline, the Morganton Point Recreation Area offers awesome boating, recreation, and camping opportunities.
There are a total of 43 campsites, including 2 larger group sites and 8 walk-in tent sites.
Of those, 31-37 campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but the rest require reservations.
The reservation sites all have water and electrical hook-ups . Standard amenities such as a grill and lantern post are included as well.
At thecampground, theres also a paved boat ramp with parking, a designated beach area with a bathhouse, a picnic area with a covered pavilion, three flush facilities, and two showers.

We stopped at the Marina Café for lunch. It was a lovely experience with a beautiful view of the lake and the marina from the café. The staff was friendly & welcoming and lunch was a very nice affair.
We loved our stop at Carters Lake. Very pretty. And for early October very quiet. We also went to the nature trail at the Army park side to see the waterfall. Worth a visit.
The folks who own the business are lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. Wonderful, beautiful, naturist lake experience. We rode, cruised, swam, and relaxed. Very pleasant experience!

Where To Stay On Lake Blue Ridge
There are no hotels on the lake, but there are lots of cabins, rentals, and bed and breakfasts to choose from.
Ive bookmarked this 4-bedroom cabin with a private, covered dock from VRBO for our next visit!
If you would rather camp, youll find that a lot of places in the surrounding area offer campsites. This is a camping-friendly area!
In particular, the Morganton Point Recreation Area has 43 campsites for both tents and RVs including 2 double-sites and 7 walk-in sites.
You can even launch your boat here and just keep it tied up by your campsite! Just make sure you get a site on the water.
There are nice walking trails around the shoreline in the area, and the Morganton Grill is located at the beginning of the road to the campground. Perfect for lunch or just an ice cream treat!
If you arent married to staying on the lake, Lesli LOVED this cool cabin only a few miles from downtown Blue Ridge.

Lake Blue Ridge Fishing
Lake Blue Ridge is fed primarily by the Toccoa River, one of North Georgias premier trout streams.
Considering the fact that Blue Ridge is known as the Trout Fishing Capital of Georgia, you can usually bet on a bite. Aside from trout, walleye, white bass, and bluegill are the most sought-after species.
Lake Blue Ridge is also the only small-mouth bass lake in Georgia, and the only GA lake where you can catch Muski. Other fish caught frequently include yellow perch, spotted sunfish, spotted bass, and green sunfish.
If youre ready to cast a line, there are a number of access points to the lake.
The Lake Blue Ridge Day Use Area and Boat Ramp is just two miles from the intersection of Hwy 76 and Aska Road, and has a free boat ramp.
Theres also the Morganton Point Campground & Recreation Area, Lakewood Landing Boat Ramp, and Lake Blue Ridge Marina.
Another popular spot for fishing is the Lake Blue Ridge Dam. The top of the dam features a picnic and viewing area, and just below the dam is a popular spot for trout fishing.

Go Fishing And Catch A Big One
My boys are not serious fisherman, but they do enjoy casting a line every once in a while. Lake Blue Ridge attracts serious anglers looking for small-mouth bass or muskie, because this lake is the only place in the state to find them!
Blue Ridge is also the trout capitol of Georgia. I hear the best trout fishing is near the Blue Ridge Dam.
If looking at fish sounds better than catching fish, The Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery is for you! Guests can tour the hatchery, where rainbow trout is raised for distribution into the nearby rivers and streams.

The full-service marina offers everything you need to enjoy a getaway in the North Georgia Mountains.

We are a family-friendly marina offering boat docks, cabin rentals, and boat rentals. Carters Lake is located in the beautiful North Georgia mountains, midway between Atlanta and Chattanooga. This unique lake offers 65 miles of undeveloped shoreline surrounding 3,200 acres of deep, clear water.
