Rick White owns and operates Up North Boat Rentals. He has two brand new 2019 21 Bennington pontoon boats for rent. Ricks boats have 60 horse power motors and are great for casual boating but are not the type of boat used for tubing or water skiing. Both Ricks boats are located on Long Lake which is about a 15 minute drive from Sleeping Bear Resort. Doreen and I have rented from Rick and had a very good experience.

- A Deposit of 200 dollars is required at the time of booking with the full amount being paid by the date of departure.
- Gas pricing – Each boat is sent out with a full tank of gas. The boat can be returned full. If The boat is not returned full at the time of pickup, the cost to refill the tank to full will be subtracted from the security deposit. *Gas pricing is $6.25 a gallon

To rent stand up paddle boards hourly in Traverse City, just stop by the beach in front of the resort or call us at and inquire about hourly rentals. Please note: due to their popularity, these stand up paddle boards are for West Bay only.
Each of our boats displays a yellow Coast Guard sticker detailing how many people and/or the maximum weight allowance on any given boat. If your group is on the lighter side from recently running the Bayshore marathon, that doesnt mean you can put more people on the boat than the Coast Guard puts on the yellow sticker. Likewise, if your group just got done with a Nathens hotdog eating contest and put on few hundred extra pounds, dont expect to put eight 250 pound people on a boat rated for 1500 pounds. We take everyones safety very seriously, and so should you.
