Boat Ride In New Orleans

Swamp People We Are The Real Swamp People

Airboat Ride in New Orleans, Louisiana

For well over 150 years, the swamp and bayous of Louisiana have been our family’s home and backyard. For all of this time, we have trapped and hunted the fur-bearing animals that live in the marsh and swamp of Cajun Country.

We are family-owned and operated by three generations who still make their living in the swamp. Everything you see on TV about the swamp people, we still do today. We make a living hunting alligators, harvesting alligator eggs, hunting nutria, fishing crabs, catching fish, and trawling for shrimp in the bayous and lakes of Louisiana. Our family and our captains are all childhood friends who have grown up making their living in the same way.

The most valuable treasure we can ever leave our children and future generations is the love and knowledge we have for the swamp and marshes of Louisiana Cajun Country.

Canal Street/algiers Point Ferry

In operation since 1827, this ferry travels across the Mississippi River along Canal Street and ends at the second oldest neighborhood of New Orleans Algiers Point.

Unlike the paddlewheeler or steamboat, the ferry offers a cheap trip across the river from Canal Street. Just ask the locals who use this as their commute!

Once you arrive, consider taking our self-guided walking tour of Algiers Point.

This company has received a 4 out of 5 stars rating on TripAdvisor.

There are a few negative reviews, but most of them seem to come from customers who were expecting the typical tourist experience.

Although they dont offer the same range of services as a boat tour or cruise, its clear that a lot of their customers are more than pleased with the transportation they provide.

New Orleans Airboat Alligator & Swamp Tour ð?

Ram Karnati rated us: 5 out of 5 stars.

Great experience overall, everything is clean. Boats are well maintained, trips start on time, so reach 30 mins before. They have vending machines for soda and snacks. Take cash for tips. Unlike in Florida, here captains give treats to the gators, make them do tricks and sometimes get them on boats if everyone is okay.

Jessica Folly rated us: 5 out of 5 stars.

GEORGE ***Highly recommend as a fun daytime activity for bachelorette or large group! Ask for George as your guide he is so knowledgeable about the history, goes FAST, has great sense of humor and finds all the gators! Also recommend either getting large daiquiris to bring with or cooler with beers to drink on the boat.

The Best New Orleans Airboat Tours

Make your time in New Orleans a whole new kind of thrilling, while getting closer to nature, on these top airboat tours.

New Orleans sits near the Mississippi River delta, where a vast network of bayous, lakes and wetlands crisscross the fringes of America before succumbing to the Gulf of Mexico. With so much water around, sometimes the best, and often the only, way to get from one place to another is by boat. With sea levels on the rise, this method of transport will only become more necessary than ever. Some airboat tours ply the extensive network of waterways around the New Orleans, while others incorporate other sights into the tour. Here are our favorite five.

Swamp Tours South of New Orleans by Airboat

For a chance to spend two hours winding along the cypress-lined waterways of the Lafitte wetlands at Bayou Barataria, check out this popular ride from Airboat Adventures. Youll see plenty of wildlife along the way, including alligators , turtles, snakes and plenty of water birds, such as ibis, egrets and herons. These airboats are large, holding up to 30 people. The prices do not include transport to the dock from New Orleans, although this can be added onto your ticket. From $59 per person.

What Are The Differences Between The Steamship Natchez And The Creole Queen

The river cruises offered by Natchez and Creole Queen are very similar. On both boats, you will enjoy a jazz cruise, a typical New Orleans atmosphere and a typical Creole meal. Both boats offer sightseeing cruises, jazz cruises, and brunch, lunch or dinner cruises.

A unique feature of the Creole Queen is the historical sightseeing cruise. This cruise is excellent for those who want to know more about the history of the city.

The Natchez also offers a visit to the museum inside the Engine Room, where you can see the steam engine. The Creole Queen has a modern and less polluting diesel engine. Another difference is the jazz live band: Dukes of Dixieland play on the Natchez while Sullivan Dabney, Jr. and the Muzik Jazz Band play on the Creole Queen.

Paddle And Wheel Combo By Gray Line

This combo package is a great buy, and with a total of about 4 hours, you can see the city and take a cruise full of historical information.
