Charleys opened January 31st 1974 as Charley Browns and was renamed Charleys Boathouse Grill on May 1st 2002. Yes, we were converted from an authentic boathouse into an Old Florida canal side restaurant.
Charleys was born out of the desire to offer Fort Myers Beach an exquisite steakhouse that featured an extensive salad bar. In later years, a variety of fresh fish and seafood were added to create the diverse menu that we offer still to this day.
To the locals we are known for our always-fresh seafood and premium cuts of beef. We are passionate about creating the perfect dining experience by serving our guests excellent food and providing exceptional service. Thats why we have been the premiere spot for steak and seafood for over 40 years on Fort Myers Beach.
