When Is The San Antonio River Walk Open
The River walk is open year round, 365 days a year. The majority of the River Walk, from Mulberry to Eagleland Plaza, is open 24 hours a day.
However, the River Walk that passes through Brackenridge Park in the north of the city is only open from 5am to 11pm. The Mission Reach stretch of the River Walk south of Eagleland Plaza is only open from dawn to dusk due to it being a natural area which is home to wildlife.

Go Rio and its fleet of colorful barges operate the boat rides along the San Antonio River Walk. The electric, eco-friendly engines hum quietly so riders can take in the sounds and listen to narrators as they cruise along the river. All of the barges are ADA accessible.
Tickets for narrated tours can be purchased online from Go Rio, then used for any public tour that leaves the docks. The tours run every 15 to 20 minutes on a daily basis from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting. At time of publication, tickets cost $12 for adults, but discounts are available for Bexar County residents, children, military members and seniors. Large groups can also charter tours with Go Rio, with the company offering private cruises for up to 40 people. Reservations need to be made in advance by calling Go Rio.
Sites showcased along the tour include a life-sized statue of St. Anthony, which Portugal presented to San Antonio, and the historic Arneson River Theater which Miss Congeniality fans might recognize from the movie. Take I-95N to Richmond. Exit onto the Downtown Expressway . Take the Canal Street to Route 60 exit. Turn right onto 10th Street, then right on East Cary Street. From the north
Take I-95S to Richmond. Take Exit 74B . Go straight through the light at the end of the ramp. At the next light, East Main Street, take a right. Then turn left at 14th Street . At the second light, turn right onto Canal Street. Take an immediate left at Virginia Street . The Turning Basin is just one block down under the bridge on Virginia Street.
From the east
Take I-64W toward Richmond. Take Exit 190, 5th Street/Downtown. Follow 5th Street to East Cary Street and turn left. Continue on East Cary Street to Virginia Street . Turn right onto Virginia Street. Continue straight over Canal Street and, in a half block, the Turning Basin will be on your left.
From the west
Take I-64E toward Richmond. Exit onto the Downtown Expressway . After the toll booth, take the 7th and 9th Street exit. Take a left onto 9th Street. Take a right on East Cary Street and continue to Virginia Street . Turn right onto Virginia Street and go straight.
