Boat Tours In New Orleans

Barataria Preserve Boat Trip

Airboat Ride in New Orleans, Louisiana

At the time of your choosing, we’ll meet up at the pier on Barataria Boulevard, to the south of New Orleans. Then its time to begin our adventure in the wonderful wetlands of Louisiana.

We will board a boat and set sail on a gentle trip through the idyllic Barataria Reserve, a vast swamp that forms part of the magnificent Jean Lafitte National Park.

Accompanied by the guide, we will discover the abundant flora and fauna of the area. More than 200 species of birds, snakes, turtles, and frogs are just some of the colourful inhabitants of these marshes. If you are lucky, we will also encounter the kings of the swamp: the alligators.

During the trip, we will also see a traditional fishing village anddiscover the American Indian past at some ancient settlements that date back more than 2000 years. This tour is the perfect blend of history and nature!

After exploring these magical swamps for an hour and forty minutes, our tour finally comes to an end.

Daytime Cruises With Optional Lunch

There are basically two different cruises to choose from, one from each company.

The main differences seem to be that the Creole Queen includes a stop at Chalmette Battlefield at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.

It is also included at no extra charge with the purchase of either the New Orleans Sightseeing Pass and the Go City New Orleans Pass.

The Steamboat Natchez offers jazz music on the lunch cruise during the high season.

Ram Karnati rated us: 5 out of 5 stars.

Great experience overall, everything is clean. Boats are well maintained, trips start on time, so reach 30 mins before. They have vending machines for soda and snacks. Take cash for tips. Unlike in Florida, here captains give treats to the gators, make them do tricks and sometimes get them on boats if everyone is okay.

Jessica Folly rated us: 5 out of 5 stars.

GEORGE ***Highly recommend as a fun daytime activity for bachelorette or large group! Ask for George as your guide he is so knowledgeable about the history, goes FAST, has great sense of humor and finds all the gators! Also recommend either getting large daiquiris to bring with or cooler with beers to drink on the boat.

I dont have another tour to compare it to, but my husband and I had THE BEST time on our tour. We saw and interacted with at least 30 Gators, including one he got on the boat for us to touch! Staff are all super nice, and the shuttle service to/from our hotel was great. We will definitely come back again! 10/10 reccomend!

Swamp People We Are The Real Swamp People

For well over 150 years, the swamp and bayous of Louisiana have been our familys home and backyard. For all of this time, we have trapped and hunted the fur-bearing animals that live in the marsh and swamp of Cajun Country.

We are family-owned and operated by three generations who still make their living in the swamp. Everything you see on TV about the swamp people, we still do today. We make a living hunting alligators, harvesting alligator eggs, hunting nutria, fishing crabs, catching fish, and trawling for shrimp in the bayous and lakes of Louisiana. Our family and our captains are all childhood friends who have grown up making their living in the same way.

The most valuable treasure we can ever leave our children and future generations is the love and knowledge we have for the swamp and marshes of Louisiana Cajun Country.

Airboat Swamp Tours

Alexandra Rodriguez rated us: 5 out of 5 stars.

Amazing tour and up close experience. They are super weird about cannabis though. They have a few signs posted banning it. Did a stoner hurt you? If its a state law, people are aware the law applies within your business. It was a cool tour but the signs came off as flamboyant political propaganda and I was just there to see some gators.

Thomas Morin rated us: 4 out of 5 stars.

Very nice guide, boat tour as you would expect very typical. On the other hand we were during the hunting season so we saw few alligators

Guide très gentil, tour en bateau comme on peut sy attendre très typique.Par contre nous avons était pendant la saison de chasse donc nous avons vue peu dalligators
