The Big Kahuna offers a unique design of two boats in one. Our Big Kahuna is equipped with a slide, shaded cover, picnic table, and propane grill. Although similar to a pontoon boat, this boat is propelled by a WaveRunner in other words, the WaveRunner is the boat’s motor! Once you have secured your Big Kahuna to one of the many mooring buoys , you may then detach the WaveRunner from the boat for your enjoyment.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE ON THE BIG KAHUNA? DO SMALL CHILDREN AND BABIES COUNT TOWARDS THE LIMIT?
The Big Kahuna has a 20-25 person capacity rating. According to Oklahoma Boating Law, small children and babies do count towards your capacity limit.

Former Tourism Department Director Gino DeMarco planned his own business venture while talks to develop a new state park marina were underway.

A state official who played a key role in negotiating questionable government contracts for pandemic supplies and a failed restaurant venture at state parks claims his private land deal near Lake Murray was all above board.
But emails show Gino DeMarco, then deputy director of the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation, had access to information about a new marina development at Lake Murray State Park that wasnt yet public and participated in talks about the scope of the project while also planning his own nearby business venture.
In February 2020, DeMarco bought 26 acres of land for $690,000 near Lake Murray State Park from a retired Episcopal priest and his wife. DeMarco subdivided the land into lots with plans for a new development called Acorn Hollow. The sale closed less than a month before state tourism officials signed a deal with a private developer to build Murray Harbor Marina about three miles away. The new marina opened in May 2021 with nearly 450 boat slips and will soon have 20 floating cabins to accommodate tourists. A water park could also eventually be part of the development.

The primary use of the lake is for recreational boating, with over 150 licensed boat owners enjoying its waters. Their prices and policies are fair and reasonable. I highly recommend to give them a call if you need access to a pontoon or jet skis during your Lake Murray visit.

Skip the pontoon rental.Nothing they advertise about their pontoons is correct. The website lists incorrect prices . When you follow the links to reserve, fareharbor not only states that Lake Murray Marina has “The Newest Luxury Fleet on Lake Murray!”, which is a load of crap, it also explicitly states that the pontoons have bluetooth stereos , bimini tops , tables , and swim ladders .The boat we were first assigned had a broken table and broken captain’s chair. I asked for a different boat with a functional captain’s chair and was informed that the only other options didn’t have ladders. We opted for no ladder, but found out that the replacement boat also didn’t have a table. Whatever.The rental process was fairly simple, though I didn’t love my full credit card number and details being handwritten and stored behind the desk.Too bad Lake Murray Marina is the only option to rent pontoon boats. Unfortunately, it’s just not worth it.
