Freedom Boat Club Cost
Freedom boat club cost is among the highest in the US, but there are a few understandable reasons for that. It is the oldest club and the most widespread marine franchisor in the country. With over 2,000 boats available in the USA, Canada, and Europe, this reputable club provides the best possible service you can find in the marine industry.
Even though membership of a few thousand dollars a year sounds expensive, you should think about the advantages of this option. As a club member, you dont need to think about buying and maintaining a boat and all expenses implied when you own one. In other words, all responsibility belongs to someone else, and you can only enjoy sailing.
Freedom boat club was founded in Sarasota, Florida, in 1989, making it the oldest in the US. Nowadays, it is the largest club with fleets that include over 2,000 vessels in a length range from 16 to 24 feet , such as:

Be aware that one thing is never a part of a Freedom boat club membership plan. It is the fuel you spend while sailing. It is tricky to calculate such an expense, but most boats in the club fleet burn 5 gallons of gas per hour.
So, you will probably pay $20 to $50 per outing, depending on desired distance traveled and current gas prices. However, you need to pay at least $550 to transfer to another location.
Most local clubs have fuel flow meters that initiate at check-out from the dock. As soon as you return, you need to have the device checked and pay for the fuel you used.

Freedom boat club provides free training for members. The licensed US Coast Guard captains conduct required education to ensure the boating safety of all members.
The comprehensive one-on-one training includes:
- Theory classes about the particular state boating regulations
- Rules and regulations in Freedom boating club

- On-water training, including docking maneuvers

Freedom Boat Club has acquired the Freedom Boat Club of Tampa Bay franchise operation and territory the largest territory in the Freedom network.
This acquisition includes all 30 current Tampa Bay-based locations, as well as the rights to expand and build new club locations throughout the territory. Located directly north of the companys headquarters in Venice, Florida, this acquisition will establish two adjacent corporate-owned club territories with over 50 locations spanning from Crystal River to Marco Island.
The acquisition of the Tampa Bay business and territory presents a tremendous opportunity to expand our corporate footprint and accelerate growth in one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States. Freedom Boat Club Announces 250th Location Supported By Record Growth In 2020
It’s no secret the marine industry has experienced an unexpected, albeit welcome, boom in 2020. That’s a good thing all around, and a byproduct of the industry surge has been the number of new boaters getting involved in the boating community.
Freedom Boat Club, a Florida-based members-only club with locations across the U.S, Canada, and Europe, has announced the opening of its record 250th location. The new location will be in Delran, NJ and will create access to the previously underrepresented Philadelphia market. The club is the largest and oldest club in the United States and operates by giving members access to boats and excursions without the burdens of full-time ownership. The company announced a record 61% increase in membership in 2020 since being acquired by Brunswick Corporation in early 2019.
Also in 2020, Freedom was named to Entrepreneur magazines first Top Growth Franchises list, which recognizes the 150 companies with the greatest positive franchise unit growth in North America over a three-year period.
The large uptick in marine sales is projected to carry into 2021 as manufacturers and dealers service a more localized marketplace created by the decrease in foreign travel. Freedom Boat Club, a Brunswick Corporation business, announced today that it has acquired the Freedom Boat Club of Rhode Island franchise operation and territory.
The acquisition includes all four current Rhode Island-based locations Newport, Portsmouth, Warwick, and Barrington, as well as the rights to expand and build new club locations throughout Rhode Island, according to a press release from Freedom Boat Club.
Freedom Boat Club says that this action complements the recent Freedom Boat Club acquisitions in the Northeast, including the New York City / Long Island and Connecticut territories.
The acquisition of the Rhode Island business and territory presents a tremendous opportunity to expand Freedoms presence in the top boating communities in the world, said Cecil Cohn, Freedom Boat Club Networks president in the press release. The Rhode Island franchise owner has been an exceptional partner to Freedom and has done an outstanding job of establishing and growing the Freedom brand, as well as attracting a growing membership and delivering exceptional on-water experiences.
As part of the transition, Cromwell will remain onboard to assist with the transition, and the local staff has been retained to ensure business continuity.
