Finding a boat across a range of dates appears to be a used case that the developers of this app never really considered. The app does allow you to search for an available boat across a range of dates but it does not allow you to filter the resulting search down to a timeframe that you are looking for. When you do a date range search you receive back a listing of boats organized by date. Each one is typically, partially available and you then need to click on each boat one after the other day after day in order to find one that happens to be available during the timeframe you have in mind. There is no way to further refine your search to show boats that are available in the timeframeYou are looking for. Its nice to have boats that are in reasonably good shape but I dont believe that management of this company has really considered the fact that in order to get out on their beautiful boats you have to fumble through this lousy app that could be made so much better!

Love Freedom Boat Club. The app has a lot of rough edges which I can forgive because the club itself is excellent for us.But recently the app has set a badge notification for you to update the app but the updated app has not been pushed to the App Store so there is no way to update and remove this notification. I was forced to disable app notifications entirely, which is frustrating.I hope theyll spend a bit more time working on the app to try and get the app quality to match the club quality.

Freedom Boat Club was first founded in 1989 in Sarasota, FL. It is the oldest and largest boat club in the nation. The vision and purpose in establishing the boat club model was simple and straightforward – to deliver a hassle-free recreational boating experience for its members.
At the time, the concept was considered revolutionary and break-through. Boaters were either traditional boat owners or friends of boat owners. There were no boat clubs, fractional boating, boating timeshare, or even many boat rental facilities. The exclusive fraternity of boat owners stored their vessels at marinas, home docks or at the yacht club. When Freedom Boat Club launched, this new offering presented an exciting new alternative that opened the waterways to newcomers as well as lapsed boaters.
As the organization began its initial growth, Freedom Boat Club was sold to an investment group. Over time, it became evident that the best leadership for this type of business model would require active engagement at the helm. John Giglio and Robert Daly had both been working for the investment operator and negotiated to buy the enterprise in 2011. Mr. Giglio bought Mr. Daly out in 2012 and became the sole President.
While the original mission has fundamentally remained the same, the composition and scope of Freedom Boat Club is continually expanding.

Last summer when COVID hit, demand for boats went through the roof, said Lee Gordon, a Vice President at Brunswick, noting that boating rose in popularity because it was an activity where people could safely social distance with their family and recreate at the same time. Buying a boat is tough right now as demand far outweighs what is in the market. We are currently selling boats into 2023.

Can You Cancel A Freedom Boat Club Reservation
If for any reason a member needs to cancel a reservation, this should be done immediately with the reservationist directly, or if it falls outside standard reservationist hours, with the dockmaster where the boat was reserved. We totally understand there are unforeseen circumstances where cancellations are necessary. There are absolutely no fees incurred to cancel a reservation. However, should a member fail to cancel and simply not show up, he may incur a small fee as this may preclude another member from enjoying an outing. Each individual Freedom Boat Club operator makes this policy, so be sure to ask.

App Needs A Lot Of Work
I hope FBC/the developer reads these reviews. Like another reviewer said, the club is great but the app needs a lot of work. How do you not include making a reciprocal reservation on the app? How did they not think of being able to text the club you have a reservation with through the app? Or include their club number. Its 2022, they definitely need to get their developer on it, us members arent always at our laptops or want to log into the mobile FBC site . Get it together soon please!

Freedom Boat Club offers free or unlimited training for its members. This training is conducted by the licensed captains of the U.S. Coast Guard. Through this training, FBC exhibits its commitment to the boating safety of its members.
As a Freedom Boat Club member, you will not be able to go boating unless you have attended the training. Before the one-on-one training, a captain will orient you about your states boating regulations in a classroom setup. The captain will also discuss FBC guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Then, they will provide you with hands-on training and orientation. The coverage includes the following:
- Open-water navigation strategies,
- Close-quarter navigation techniques, and
- Docking maneuvers when it comes to on-water training.
Dont expect the training and orientation to be a short one. It is an extensive and comprehensive training session. Freedom Boat Club designed it in such a way that members will not only learn about how to be safe while boating. But members will also learn how to be confident boaters.
