Crash Boat In Puerto Rico

Crash Boat Beach Come And Enjoy Aguadilla

Crash Boat Aguadilla Puerto Rico

Aguadilla

Crash Boat Beach is located on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico, in the town of Aguadilla about a 15 minutes drive from the Rafael Hernandez International Airport. Its name comes from what it was used for by the military a port for military boats to rescue downed aircrews training from the nearby Ramey Air Force Base.

As this beach is not a Balneario, such facilities as showers, dressing rooms, lifeguards, safety buoys are not available. Parking is available at this beach.

You must experience Crash Boat Beach, this beach is one of my favorites! Great beach for swimming, crystalline waters with perfect turquoise colors. The abandoned pier is a clear reminder of the history of this place. Obviously, as is no longer used for its original purpose, the pier is used by many in many fun activities, such as walking, fishing, taking photos, and even as a diving platform. Great place to take a walk in the nearby hills and observe a beautiful sunset.

One Beach Three Different Experiences

The water is beautiful, with various shades from crystal clear, baby blue to cerulean blue tones on the north side and emerald green tones on the southern side of the pier.

There are some spots best for swimming where the water is calmer, if youre visiting for the first time, feel free to ask a local, swim where you see families with children, or be sure to get in the water before your children in order to check out the depth and conditions.

The cool thing about Crash Boat is that in one location you get 3 different beaches, each appealing to a specific group, one of the reasons this beach is so popular among locals.

The north end of Crash Boat is typically really quiet and mellow, the best spot to relax and observe all the action at the beach. From spring until early fall the water gets really shallow and clear along the rocks l, a great place to swim and go snorkeling.

If you keep swimming along the rocks youll find hidden caves along the boulders.

During the winter months, this spot is loved by surfers, known as Gas Chambers.

Crash Boat Beach

Update Dec. 2nd, 2017- Post Maria- There was some damage to the kiosks/buildings. But the beach is usable. Sadly, no fishing boats anymoreat least for now.

Puerto Rico is blessed with so many beautiful beaches, and Crash Boat Beach is one of them. It is very popular, so it can be busy , but it is has two sandy areas with ample space people to spread out. here are some facilities, some food and water sports vendors, and even a chair/umbrella rental place. It is a colorful beach, with the pier and the fishing boats, you can get lots of good photos. Really, this beach offers something for everyone! If you are in the area, it is a must-visit stop.

Crash Boat Beach is located in Aguadilla, on the west side of Puerto Rico. There are remnants of a ship at the shoreline on the far left side . I dont know for sure, but I assume that is how the beach came to be called Crash Boat.

The old pier is left over from the US Air Force, who used it to dock rescue boats. The pier is painted in bright greens and yellows, and it is open for visitor use for fishing , for jumping into the water for fun , and the pilings below make it a great snorkel/dive site.

Be mindful of the current. Depending on the tides and recent weather, there can be swift rip currents pulling away from the pier. This is especially true in the winter months.

As a beach, it is fairly large . The sand is nice, light gold color, the water is crystal clear.
