How Much Fuel Will We Use
Although there is no possible way to determine how much fuel that your boat will use, we only use engines that are highly efficient and relatively inexpensive to operate. Many factors play into the fuel consumption, such as distance you travel, the speed you drive, number of persons in your party, wind resistance, etc.
Most of our groups enjoy fishing some or all of the time they are on the water. The average fuel amounts they use are: $30-$100+
*If you are cruising most of the day, your fuel will be significantly more.
I Do Not Feel Comfortable Boating On Lake Of The Woods Do You Offer Guided Service
We unfortunately do not offer a guided service at this time. We do offer a shuttle service, however, for weddings and events at the rate of $200 an hour. Event shuttles must be booked in advance and it includes the boat, driver, fuel and any liability coverage. Please contact the marina at for more information and any inquiries.
Canadian Boating License Required
All operators of motorized boats in Canada are required to obtain and carry a Pleasure Craft Operator Card regardless of age, length of boat or engine horsepower. Theres a $250 fine for boating without it.

Most frequent damage occurs when a client hits a rock on the lake, often damaging the skeg, prop and/or lower unit. Pontoons have also been damaged due to poor docking skills.

The Lake House In Crystal Lake Park Urbana
The Lake House in Crystal Lake Park will offer boat rentals again in 2022. And this year, the Lake House is starting early in May! Rent a paddleboat, canoe or rowboat on the lake. Boat rentals range from $8 for a half-hour to $14 an hour. Credit cards accepted. If the weather is questionable, call 328-1069 to see if it is open.

There are more than 15 major reefs within 4 miles of Rocky Point. Youll catch a mixed bag at Rocky Point walleye, sauger, northern pike and perch.
Rocky Point provides the poles, tackle, bait and fish cleaning as part of your charter fishing experience. Guests should plan to bring a fishing license, layered clothing for weather changes, sunscreen and a cooler with food/beverage.

Ive Never Been On Lake Of The Woods Before What Dangers Do I Need To Know About
Lake of the Woods is considerably large, with a variety of channels, reefs and rocks to navigate. We urge all clients to ere on the side of caution when deciding to rent on Lake of the Woods since you are liable for any and all damage to the boat.
With this being said, there are a number of easy to access places, with direct routes on Lake of the Woods. It can be a wonderous place to adventure, and discover if you have the patience to navigate appropriately.
What Is The Cancellation Policy What Happens If The Weather Is Bad
Boats can be cancelled 40 hours prior to the rental date with no penalty and your deposit will be refunded to you, less the $5.00 processing fee. Cancellations under 48 hours in advance will result in us retaining your 25% deposit, unless we are able to re-rent the boat.
Harsh weather is considered heavy winds and lightning. Low winds, and light rain are not considered harsh weather, therefore the rental date is still a go! With this being said, we do our best to accommodate re-scheduling if the driver of the boat is uncomfortable in weather conditions on the rental date.

Bostic Bay On Lake Of The Woods Produces Amazing Fishing
Ken-Mar-Ke Resort is located on Bostic Bay on the southern shore of Lake of the Woods. We are close to the mouth of the Rainy River and Morris Point Gap. Some of the best walleye and northern pike fishing areas on the lake are within two miles of our resort.
Bait fishing is great when fishing in and around Pine Island, at Morris Point Gap. The Bostic Bay and the Morris Point areas are the places to fish for those spring and summer trophy walleye and northerns.
Late in July and August, and also during those hot and muggy days, the walleyes and saugers move into deeper waters. It is a real treat to experience a day or two fishing aboard one of our 27 foot Sportcraft charter boats. Our experienced Coast Guard Licensed Guides will put you and your party on the fish. All of our charter boats are equipped for bait or downrigger fishing. They are all radio equipped and have sanitary facilities on board.
In addition, many trophy size northern pike roam Four Mile Bay. These trophy fish are taken in spring, summer and fall.

Can We Bring Alcohol On The Boats
This is one of the most common misconceptions with boating it seems. The rules for alcohol in boats are exactly the same as it is for cars in Ontario. Therefore, there is absolutely no alcohol allowed on any of our boats. Enforcement from the O.P.P. is very strict on Lake of the Woods, and penalties are severe.

Lake Of The Woods Mahomet
Rentals of pedal boats, kayaks and rowboats are available Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Hours are noon-7 p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and the cost is $6 per half-hour. The boat peninsula is located at 101 N. Lake of the Woods Road, at the intersection of Tin Cup Road and Lake of the Woods Road. It was recently renovated and is now Champaign Countys first ADA accessible boat launch.

Constructed in the 1920s, this 60-acre lake drops down to 20.4 feet in the northwest corner. A fishing pier is located on the east side of the lake, and four bump-outs are located in the southwest corner. Boat rentals, bait and other fishing supplies are available at the Boating Center. Can I Take The Boat Earlier Or Later Then Your Listed Hours
The only way this is possible is on multi-day rentals. If you have a boat for several days or a week, you can use the boat anytime you like. The boat can be parked either at our location or at the place you are staying if there is a suitable dock. You are responsible any damage that may be incurred while in your possession.
Note: If going on the lake during dark, your boat must be equipped with lights provided by Tall Pines Marina. However, we do suggest you bring a bright flashlight to find buoys.
Is There Insurance To Purchase
No, there is no insurance available. We take a damage deposit for every boat rental, which will be refunded to you after the boat is returned undamaged. Please be aware that you are responsible for all damage to the boat and motor even over and above the held deposit amount.
With this being said, you may be able to check with your credit card provider, and/or home-owner or automobile insurance.

What If The Boat Is Excessively Dirty When We Return It
Obviously, we dont expect the boats to return in perfect cleanliness, however any boats that our staff deem to be muddy, dirty, or with garbage will be subject to additional cleaning fees which will be deducted from your damage deposit. The two most frequent issues on the boats are sand from beaches, and not rinsing mud and weeds from the anchors when retrieved. Both make a considerable mess.
