Well-Planned RenovationsTucked below the spectacular cliffs surrounding Possum Kingdom Lake, or P.K. Lake as it is known in the community, Bluff Creek Marina has grown exponentially since its inception in 1980. The marina started out with 40-50 wet slips and a small ships store. There wasnt a bathhouse or any of the extra amenities we offer today, said Brandon Pendergraft, assistant general manager at Bluff Creek Marina. I started out working in the ships store at Bluff Creek when I was 16 years old. I didnt think about how rough things were until VIP Marinas acquired the marina in 2012 and started major renovations.Bluff Creek was the second of 13 marinas now owned by VIP Marinas. Bluff Creek Marina has now become the standard of excellence that all the new VIP Marinas acquisitions follow. The facility has also become the corporate headquarters for the entire VIP Marinas family.

“While we enjoyed the boat rental and the boat itself there were ZERO life preservers available for riding the tube. The only ones offered for the 5 adults on our boat were toddler and youth sizes. The attendant stated that we only needed the orange emergency use. 3 of the women ended up using a youth sized vest utilizing ONE buckle and one used an emergency vest which ended up around her throat on the tube. I now know using a PFD beyond the intended use described on the label is illegal and can result in serious penalties. More important, it can result in fatalities. We intended to spend the time tubing but ended up anchored and floating mostly because of the lack of appropriate safety vests.”

The capacity of our pontoon rentals on Possum Kingdom Lake is 13 passengers. We currently have five 2020 Berkshire Pontoons.
What should I bring with me to my boat rental at Bluff Creek Marina?
The Possum Kingdom boat rental requires a state issued driver’s license or U.S. military ID, and a major credit card in order to rent our watercraft and accessories. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover. We would suggest you bring proper water attire and towels, sunscreen and any necessary medications.
How long can I rent a boat on Possum Kingdom Lake for?
Bluff Creek Marina requires a 2 hours minimum on all boats to rent. You may rent them for as long as you would like for the day. The latest possible return time varies based on the closing time for our daily boat rentals.
A $150.00 deposit is required for all boats due upon reservation. The deposit will then be applied towards your total rental cost when the boat is returned, cleaned and refueled.
