We have been serving boating customers for 46 years. We are located at Mile 812.7 on the Upper Mississippi River.
William H. King and group of investors bought Red Wing Motors in Red Wing, MN in the 1950s, where they built Casa Cruiser house bouts with Red Wing Motors. Bill King would ride the train from Saint Paul where he lived to Red Wing every day to get to work. While riding back and forth on the train daily, Bill H. became aware of a small lake just off the main channel of the Mississippi River and right above the mouth of the St. Croix River called Lake Conley. Bill H. King envisioned something much greater for that little lake. He could see it as the perfect spot for a large marina in a well-protected harbor. In the 1960s, Bill H. started acquiring land and eventually ended up with 280 acres. He then applied for permits from the United States Corps of Engineers and the Minnesota Division of Natural Resources for the channel. Not long after that, the marina was granted the permits, and the channel was built.

Canoe & Kayak Rentals In Taylors Falls Mn
First time renting a canoe from Taylors Falls and it was a breeze. We reserved our canoe online and the website was easy to use and has lots of great info and pictures. Day of our paddle we showed up, checked in, staff were friendly, helpful, laid-back. We had a great time. Gorgeous weather, beautiful scenery, helpful staff. Overall, a great experience!
We arrived with the shuttle from the campground around 11:30. The driver of the shuttle was a very courteous young man who helped us get life jackets situated. All 7 of us enjoyed our time on the water.Such a great experience. The shuttle service makes the day on the river so relaxing. Highly recommend them!
We booked online, checked in, and were quickly on the water. The kayaks, life jackets, and paddles were ready to go at the edge of the river. We enjoyed the water on a beautiful day. Wading, swimming, and fishing were welcome activities. A great time was had by all. Staff were at the landing when we arrived. The shuttle bus arrived quickly.
The trip was beautiful! We were nervous taking two small children on a 7 mile canoe ride but there were plenty stops along the way to rest and enjoy the water or a sandy beach. The views were amazing and we will be talking about this for years to come. The shuttle was timely and the helpful staff gave us clear directions and tips on where to stop.

Fishermans Body Recovered From St Croix River North Of Stillwater
The body of a fisherman was pulled from the St. Croix River on Monday afternoon near Mile Long Island just north of Stillwater, authorities say.
The 43-year-old White Bear Lake man was found in the river around 1 p.m. His name was not immediately released pending family notification.
The man was identified as the boats owner through boat registration records his truck and boat trailer were found in the Boom Site Public Boat Ramp parking lot, said Laura Perkins, spokeswoman for the Washington County Sheriffs Office.
The mans family confirmed to deputies that he fishes that stretch of river often, usually alone and during the late evening hours, Perkins said. Family members said he had left to go fishing Sunday night and never returned.
No obvious damage to the boat were found, she said, and the man was not wearing a life jacket when his body was recovered.

So, pack a lunch before you arrive. You can dock your boat at the Boomsite Recreational Area Park which is located about one mile north of Wolf Marine. You can also pull your boat onto the shores of the Mile Long Island right in front of Boomsite Park or anchor in a protected bay behind a land point or island where the current is minimal.There are no navigational markers on the river north of Wolf Marine so pay close attention to your depth finder to avoid the very shallow or rocky areas.
