Freedom Boat Club of Maine is expanding to the Boothbay region, opening its fifth location at Linekin Bay Resort. Offering the most boat clubs and the largest fleet in the state, Freedom Boat Club of Maine will open this spring with five clubs and 29 new model year boats. Fleet vessels include center consoles, dual consoles, cruisers, rigid inflatables, and pontoon boats.
Weve had a lot of interest to open a club in the Boothbay area so are thrilled to partner with Linekin Bay Resort, explained Steve Arnold, owner of Marina Holdings, which includes Yarmouth Boat Yard, Moose Landing Marina, and Freedom Boat Club of Maine. Freedom Boat Club Continues Pace Of Accelerated Growth And Celebrates Record Successes Across Its Franchisee Network At Annual Conference
VENICE, Fla., November 11, 2021 Freedom Boat Club, a division of Brunswick Corporation and the worlds largest boat club, held its annual franchise conference last week to celebrate another year of record growth for the business. Since Freedom joined the Brunswick family in May 2019, it has experienced unprecedented expansion now serving nearly 70,000 members across nearly 300 locations. Freedoms total footprint now also includes Fanautic Club, the largest boat club operator in Spain, acquired in July 2021 adding an additional 23 locations to the Brunswick portfolio.
The three-day event was attended by franchisees from across the country adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols marking the first in person gathering of the network over the past 24 months. It was an opportunity for leadership within Freedom and Brunswick, including CEO Dave Foulkes, to share their vision for the business.

The Freedom Boat Club has gotten more Mainers out on the water this season than ever before.
We saw a significant increase in members last year and into this continuing year, said Steve Arnold, owner of the Freedom Boat Clubs Maine franchise. COVID was a big push for people to get outside and reconnect with their families. Boating was the perfect thing for that.
Buying into Freedom Boat Club means access to the fleet of boats that are shared among its members. Started in Sarasota, Fla., in 2009, FBC now operates across the world and is considered the single largest marine franchise in the U.S.
Youre allowing more people to get access to the water by joining Freedom
Steve Arnold has worked for, and owned, marinas for a long time. He purchased the Yarmouth Boat Yard in 2004 and in 2013 bought the Moose Landing Marina in Naples.
When Arnold decided to purchase FBCs Maine franchise in 2017, he made the boat sharing service available at his own marinas as well as expanding to additional locations in Portland, South Portland, and Boothbay Harbor.
The whole sharing aspect really resonated with me, said Arnold. Youre allowing more people to get access to the water by joining Freedom versus just coming into the marina and requesting a slip.A slip is like a single parking spot for a boat at a marina. Arnold explained that theres not much turnover for slips, so marinas get crowded fast.

Freedom Boat Club of Maine is growing once again. This spring the company will open its sixth location which will be located at Point Sebago Resort on Sebago Lake. Offering the most locations and the largest fleet of boat club vessels in the state, Freedom Boat Club also is part of the largest network of boat clubs in the world with over 330 locations across the globe.
Fleet vessels in Maine include 22 25 center consoles, dual consoles, cruisers, rigid inflatables, and pontoon boats. The Point Sebago club will start out with four new 22 24 boats. Freedom Boat Club Of Maine To Add Sixth Location
Capitalizing on strong interest in boating and outdoor recreation that gained traction during the pandemic, Freedom Boat Club of Maine will add another port of call this year, on Sebago Lake, the company announced Tuesday.
Freedom Boat Club, part of a Sarasota, Fla.-based franchise with 330-plus locations worldwide, plans to open its sixth Maine location at Point Sebago Resort in Casco this spring.
“We’re very excited to be able to open a location on Sebago Lake,” said Steve Arnold, owner of Marina Holdings, which includes Yarmouth Boat Yard, Moose Landing Marina and Freedom Boat Club of Maine. “The second largest lake in Maine, Sebago is a popular boating destination.”
Freedom Boat Club already has a working relationship with Point Sebago, having managed the resort’s marina and a large fleet of rental boats for years, Arnold said. “Adding Freedom Boat Club to the mix will provide more boating options for Point Sebago Resort guests and our existing boat club members.”
The company expects to employ 10 people at the new location, bringing the total to 70 at six locations, including Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor, added last year.
Freedom Boat Club is also at Yarmouth Boat Yard on the Royal River Moose Landing Marina in Naples Fore Points Marina in Portland and Sunset Marina in South Portland.
The addition of a sixth location follows a 28% surge in membership last year and higher sales of both used and new boats by Marina Holdings, according to Arnold.
