At Bass Pro Variety Of Fishing Boats For Sale
In the showroom of Bass Pro’s Tracker Marine Boat Center, there are variety of fishing boats on display from the streamlined, flat-bottom jon boats for shallow water to the v-bottom boats for deep water as well as pontoon boats and pleasure boats for tubing and water-skiing.
Presnall said the Springfield store sells 800 to 900 boats a year. This year, it introduced a heritage edition model of the original 1978 Bass Tracker. That model was not on display Monday.
“We sold out of it at the end of March,” he said. “It was very popular.”
The largest motor in the showroom was 250-horsepower. Nearly all the motorized boats are aluminum and sell for $10,000 to $20,000 with the full package including the motor, trailer, and a range of additional accessories including fish-finder navigation and the livewells.
Of the motorized fishing boats available, the most popular options offer a variety of shapes, including:
“Generally speaking, the bigger the boat, the more horsepower you need,” he said.
Find The Best Mercury Outboard Motors At Defendercom
From its humble beginnings in the 1930s, where the Kiekhaefer Corporation refurbished and sold outboard motors as part of a plan to fund a startup dairy equipment business, Mercury Marine outboard motors have garnered a reputation of quality. Mercury specializes in durable, lightweight outboard motors for every occasion and Defender is proud to offer the quality that Mercury outboard motors represents.
Over the decades, Mercury has built on its reputation as a leading outboard engine manufacturer and still holds records to prove its dependability, fuel economy, and performance. In 1957, two Mercury 90 HP motors set endurance records on a test lake, running 50,000 miles at an average speed of over 30 MPH continuously , and were still well within factory tolerances for wear and performance. This is a record that has never been beaten.
These are the kinds of stories that have built on the reputation of one of the most recognizable outboard motors today. Mercury engines today benefit from the quality, craftsmanship, and reliability developed over the last 70 years.

Yamaha Files Suit Against Boat Maker
Yamaha Motor Corp. USA has filed an antitrust suit against Bass Tracker Inc. of Springfield, Mo., claiming that the boat makers plan to sell its vessels only through Mercury and Mariner outboard motor dealers will cut into Yamahas outboard motor sales.
According to Russ Jura, attorney for Cypress-based Yamaha, the boat maker has decreed that only authorized Mercury and Mariner outboard motor dealers will be able to sell boats built by Bass Tracker, a major maker of medium-priced boat-and-trailer packages.
The suit claims that customers now will have no choice but to install either Mercury or Mariner outboards on boats built by Bass Tracker.
Officials at Bass Tracker could not be reached for comment on Yamahas late-Monday announcement.
Jura said the move by Bass Tracker, scheduled to take effect Aug. 1, will be a major obstacle in Yamahas bid to secure more dealers.
What this has done is prevent us from signing up additional dealers, Jura said. Tracker is a very respectable boat manufacturer, and they do sell a lot of boats.
Yamaha is seeking treble damages for any losses the company suffers as a result of the Bass Tracker move. Jura said it was too early to predict how deeply Bass Trackers planned move will cut into Yamahas sales and its ability to sign dealers.
Jura said he wasnt aware of any other exclusive boat- and motor-maker arrangements like the one that Bass Tracker plans.

Nah Ill Just Trade It In
Trading in your boat is a logical option if you want to sell it sooner than later. The upside is the dealership does all the work for you, from handling all the title exchanging and other paperwork, to setting the trade-in payment to you. Before you accept an offer, do the homework by using the same resources used by the dealer. Do the online research of comparable boats for sale, and then find the estimated trade-in and average retail value from the NADA, which stands for National Automobile Dealers Association. Its basically a car and boat trade-in value guide, where you can find listings for a comparable model. That gives you some inside knowledge when it comes time to negotiate the price.

The Bass Tracker Legacy
More than forty years ago, back in 1978, Johnny Morris and his father John A. Morris came up with an idea to produce the first completely-outfitted fishing boat package in the world something the fishing community had not seen before. From that idea, Bass Pro Shops® introduced the original BASS TRACKER® aluminum fishing boat with high hopes.
As with the selection of every item featured in the Bass Pro Shops catalog, the most important consideration was quality.
When Bass Pro Shops decided to market a boat, we visited boat shows and builders across the nation to develop the finest boat possible. While keeping anglers and their needs in mind, it took more than two years to develop the first BASS TRACKER. Simultaneously, Bass Pro Shops was the first major builder to build a trailer to match one specific boat. Johnny and his dad pioneered the total package concept, selecting or developing the best components. Only when the BASS TRACKER packageboat, trailer, outboard motor, fishfinder and trolling motorwas in line with Bass Pro Shops commitment to quality, innovation and performance, did we concentrate on achieving the lowest possible selling price.
Buying A New Boat At Bass Pro What A Joke
Went to my local bass pro a while back to look at the new Z19. They had the one in the store they had debuted at the classic expo. I always said I’d never buy a nitro, but this new Z19 is right in my price range and seems to be a pretty solid boat from what I can see. The problem is it’s like pulling teeth trying to buy a boat at bass pro! I wanted to talk price, payments, adding some extras and they told me to get online and I could do it all there! Are you kidding me? I want to buy a boat that you sell and you tell me to get online and figure it out? The salesman didn’t want to run my credit, talk about trade in or anything. I just don’t get it. Maybe he was having a bad day, I don’t know. What I do know is they missed out on a sale, cause I was ready to buy!
The problem with buying a boat at Bass pro Shops is they do not negotiate. The listed price is the price you pay. Back when I was searching for a tin 3 years ago. I looked hard at Trackers. They would not even give me a break on electronics. Everything was list price. The sales person said I would get $500 credit at the store though. The price they offered me for my fairly newly refurbished tin was a joke. I ended up buying a Triton tin from a dealer up north who gave me 100% Nada Guide high retail value for my trade in. I think one of the mechanics wanted it. New paint job, new carpet, newer rigging. They also charged no labor for rigging the Triton’s electronics, TM, and NMEA Network.

Peace Quiet Can Be Found On Weekdays
Terrell said he understands one point that Rottmann was trying to make in the column. “I empathize somewhat with him about the serenity.”
He said any attempt to ban bass boats and tournaments from Missouri’s largest rivers and lakes will be challenged. “The waterways are for everyone.”
Terrell said tranquility can be found on Table Rock Lake, Lake of the Ozarks and other waterways, even during the busiest months of the spring, summer and fall.
“Through the week, you can go out and not have to fight through traffic. Monday through Thursday, on just about any lake around, you can find serenity. You can kayak and play in the water,” he said. “But, not on the weekends. You might be able to find serenity in a cove but I would not come out.”

Tournaments Limit Size Of Boat Motors
What no one appears to be refuting is the popularity of fishing tournaments. They have been growing steadily in the Ozarks.
“There are probably more tournaments on Table Rock Lake than there are days in the year,” said Taylor McClure, an employee at Indian Point Marina. “Weekends are pretty busy. The closer we get to the Fourth of July, the busier it gets.”
He said bigger boats and higher speeds can cause problems, especially for stationary docks. A powered water vessel creates a wake an area of recirculating water or a wave.
“Bigger boats throw a pretty big wake but it causes more damage to docks than it does to other boats,” McClure said. “When they throw a big wake, it throws the dock pretty high up and can cause structural damage.”
McClure said bass boats come in a variety of sizes and speeds. Like Presnall, he said it’s rare to see a boat of any kind that can go over 100 mph.

2014 Bass Tracker PRO TEAM 190 2014 Bass Tracker with less than 150 hours on the 4 stroke mercury, I do not have the precise amount but it only had ten hours on it when i bought the boat 2 years ago. There is still a few months of warranty on the motor, I have been trying to contact Mercury to find the exact amount but they are very hard to reach. The trolling motor is less than a year old and is a 24 volt 70 pound thrust minn kota. Everything on the boat and trailer works fine I am only selling because I have a weekend job that prevents me from fishing as much as I would like. There are some aesthetic defects with the boat you can see in the pictures. The carpet above the stereo is worn and the seats are weathered. THIS BOAT HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT!!!! Unfortunately bass tracker would not cover the seats under warranty which is very frustrating especially since they now cover the 2015 models. Both livewells and the bilge work flawlessly. The only thing keeping this boat from looking brand new is the carpet and seats. I currently go to school in milledgeville and could meet at lake sinclair for a trial run. The hull does not have any dings and has been waxed 3-4 times a year to prevent stain. Give me a call at 912-614-7880
